Shutterfly Rocks!

I am so excited about getting our holiday cards this year from Shutterfly! We have used other companies in the past, but I have really enjoyed some products recently that I have ordered from their company. Their customer service was very positive and the product turned out great! Shutterfly has a great selection of cards that are high quality at a low cost! There are so many to choose from it's going to be hard to pick one!! I love that with this year's card we can send a classy design to our friends and family showing off some highlights of our year - GETTING MARRIED! Stay tuned to hear about the one that we choose. You can go here to check them out:

The past few years my brother and his wife have made photo books as gifts. In the month of October, my best friend got married. I used Shutterfly to make a photo book from all of her bridesmaids as a keepsake. It was so easy! All the girls sent me photos either digitally or I scanned them in. Once I had all the photos, it was so easy! I simply dropped the pictures right in the format and typed in my captions where necessary. The book was beautiful and has inspired me to do more of this type of gift this holiday season. They are a great gift for grandparents, aunts, uncles or even to just have as a keepsake of a special memory or milestone. Again, the price is right! There are always valuable coupons sent through email and deals so what better way to share a special gift then with pictures! You can use this link to check them out:

As soon as I pick out the card - you'll be the first to know!! :) Did I mention I love Christmas!!

1. learn to sew by taking a sewing class

2. master the art of cake decorating

3. go on legit picnics 5 times

4. run 2 half marathons

5. become highly qualified to teach middle school math

6. coach a soccer team

7. play on a soccer team

Ok, that's all for now... I'll keep you posted.

30 by 30

Not too long ago, I was challenged and encouraged by a friend who had come up with a great idea to do 30 things by the time she turned 30. I have been thinking about it for a few weeks and I feel as though I am going to start compiling my list. This conversations was very inspiring to me, for the things on her list were adventurous and fun. Not only do I plan on sharing the list with the few of you who read this, but I will keep you updated on my progress as well. Some things will be easily attained, others will be challenging - hence the adventure! Enjoy the ride!

Accomplished.

So this week, like I said, I was rather focused. I still enjoyed a good treat or two but only if my points allowed it. I am feeling good and the results would agree. This past week I lost 7lbs and accomplished each day of my workout. I was successful this week, to say the least. The first week of true weight watchers always is a big number so I am continuing to stay focused this week but expect a much smaller number.

This week's goals:

weight loss - 3lbs
running - same schedule as last week.

Week 2:
Monday - stretch and strengthen
Tuesday - 3 mile run
Wednesday - 2 mile run or cross training
Thursday - 3 mile run and strength
Friday - rest
Saturday - 30 min cross training
Sunday - 4 mile run

Week 2 check in...

Well, I can definitely say that I am more focused this week. I am sticking to my points counts for WW and sticking to the workout plan. I have followed this week's training guide so far. It feels good to be running again. Yesterday Dan and I had great pace which was encouraging. Overall, this week has been a much better week and I am feeling positive about the whole journey! You know, it's not so hard once you have a few good days under your belt and good food in the fridge.

Thanks for reading!

Disappointed not defeated

Hello all 4 of you that read this!

I was away this weekend for a bachlorette party in a town of Luray, VA. It was a fabulous time with friends, fun, tubing, sunburn, and s'mores. Needless to say, although our dinners were on the healthy side - my snacking habits not so healthy. So, when I got home I said to Dan - so do I get to weigh myself in the morning instead...well that wouldn't be fair. My updates for last weeks goals do not make me proud, in fact they are disappointing.

Weight = +3lbs
Running = non-existent

So, where to from here? I am going to be intentional this week. I am looking forward to getting back in the habit for real. Please hold me accountable for my decisions if you are with me. Please hep me become a healthier me. I saw a picture of me from the past weekend and was like - ughhhh is that me?! :(

SO, next week I'm setting my goals high to make up for lost ground...

Goals:
weight loss - 5 lbs
running -

Week 1:

Monday - stretch and strengthen

Tuesday - 3 mile run

Wednesday - 2 mile run or cross training

Thursday - 3 mile run and strength

Friday - rest

Saturday - 30 min cross training

Sunday - 4 mile run

Here's to new beginnings!!!

Week 1 check in

Well, this week has been the close to the school year which proves to be tricky in terms of eating. All kids are celebrating "summer birthdays" with treat deliveries. Teachers bring in items to share. I must say that food has been decent, but the weather has been not helpful in terms of my runs. I will be away this weekend for a bachlorette weekend - but will be packing snacks to stay on track! Thanks for those who are reading this. I'll post Sunday night on my progress and next week's goals...

Starting over...

So, I must say weight has always been a struggle for me. I live on what seems like a never ending roller coaster of healthy and unhealthy. Well, today is the day - I am starting over. My mentality, my workout plan, my eating habits - I'm not looking back.

Part of my struggle has always been looking back on the successes I have had in the past and feeling like a failure in the present. We will have no more of that thought process for it is not helpful in any way.

So tonight, after a wonderful weekend in VA, Dan and I started on our journey together. Every week I will have 2 goals, a weight loss goal and a running goal. I will log in my miles on this blog and my training as I go. Dan and I are training for the Philadelphia half marathon September 19th and contemplating Nashville's half marathon in April with friends.

Please join me on my journey. I promise nothing but honesty and truth throughout this process. Hopefully this will be a battle I can finally conquer in confidence!

This week's goals:
*weight loss: 3 lbs
*running: 4 times - total mileage: 12 miles

XOXO
